American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification: A native of East Tennessee, Jodi Watson Rose graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from King College (now King University) in Bristol, TN. She then attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and graduated with a Master of Science in biochemistry. From there, she traveled to Atlanta to work in the laboratory of Dr. Gary Miller at Emory University, studying the relationship between the environment and Parkinson’s Disease. She decided to further her education and while at Emory, she was accepted into the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. To be closer to family, she moved back to Tennessee and earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale.
She began her nursing career as an RN in Atlanta, working primarily in cardiac ICU. After moving back to Tennessee, she worked at Tennova-Cleveland, serving in both the emergency department and surgical ICU. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in primary care and is excited to now join Dr. Bear in meeting the neurological needs of the community. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Chattanooga Area Nurses in Advanced Practice.
